You can export data from Services Registry to a file system. The exported data is in a ZIP archive file and can be used for backing up the information or exchanging data between Services Registry on different systems.

Recommendation Recommendation

When you want to export or import Services Registry data, you should follow the steps below instead of exporting and importing UDDI server data.

End of the recommendation.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged on to SAP NetWeaver Administrator using the following address: http://[host]:[port]/nwa

  • In SAP NetWeaver Administrator, you have navigated to   SOA   Technical Configuration   Services Registry Management   Services Registry Settings  .

  • The user account you use to configure Services Registry is assigned to the NWA_SUPERADMIN role. For more information, see User Management of the Application Server Java.

Procedure

Exporting Data
  1. Choose the Export tab.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • In case you want to obtain a data set for the current state of the system, choose Start Export.

The system starts creating the data set and displays the progress. When finished, it displays a link to the created Zip file.

    • In case the Services Registry data has been exported before, you can choose to download the latest data set using the Load Zip button.

The system displays a link to the available Zip file.

  3. Choose the Zip file link and save the file.

The Zip file created during the export contains XML files. One of these files, sumamry.xml, contains the following basic information about the exported data:

    • Number of classification systems, physical systems, service definitions, Service Groups, and services.

    • Date and time of start and completion of the export.

    • Name, IP address, and port number of the system.

Importing Data
  1. Choose the Import tab.

  2. Choose Browse and navigate to the data set you want to import.

You should use a data set that has been created when exporting Services Registry data using   SOA   Technical Configuration   Services Registry Management   Services Registry Settings   Export   in SAP NetWeaver Administrator.

  3. Choose Start Import.

The system loads the data set and displays the progress of the import process.

    Note Note

When importing data, the system adds from the data set to Services Registry the entities that are not available yet in Services Registry. Entities that existed in Services Registry and are not available in the data set are preserved, there is no information lost.

    End of the note.
