You can arrange the condition and action columns of the Decision Table depending on how you want them to appear.

If you choose to have only vertical conditions, all condition headers appear in vertical columns in the decision table. On the other hand if you choose to have a horizontal condition, one of the condition headers and the corresponding values gets arranged in a row.

Note Note

You can only change the layout if there is more than one condition in the decision table. A decision table can only have one horizontal condition.

Procedure

  1. In the Project Explorer view, expand the rules composer DC node and the Rules Modeling node and double-click the ruleset node.

  2. In the Outline view, choose a decision table node.

  3. In the decision table editor, choose the Change Layout button.

  4. In the dialog box that appears, select or deselect the Table has Horizontal Condition checkbox.

  5. Under Conditions and Actions sections, use the series of buttons on the right hand side of the dialog box to arrange the conditions and actions in the desired sequence.

  6. Choose Finish.

  7. Save the changes.

Note Note

You can specify the layout when you create a decision table:

  • On the Select the Conditions screen of the Decision Table Creation Wizard, select or deselect the Table has Horizontal Condition checkbox.

  • In the decision table editor, choose the Condition button and choose Add Vertical Condition in the menu that appears. You can arrange the conditions you added in the desired sequence in the dialog box that appears .

    If you have already added a horizontal condition, the Add Horizontal Condition option is not active when you choose the Condition tab in the decision table editor.
