Procedure documentationAdding Condition and Action Values Locate this document in the navigation structure

 

After you create a Decision Table with condition and action headers, you need to populate the cells with corresponding values.

Procedure

  1. Locate the ruleset (Where is my ruleset?) and double-click the ruleset node.

  2. In the Outline view, choose a decision table node.

Adding Condition Values
  1. In the decision table editor that appears, choose the Context Menu button and in the menu that appears, choose Add Condition Values.

  2. In the dialog box that appears, enter as many values as you want in the available rows and choose OK.

Note Note

In the decision table, you can also double-click each cell under the condition header and enter the values directly or simply select the cell and enter the value.

Adding Action Values
  1. In the decision table editor, double-click a cell under the action header in the decision table, enter a value and press Enter.

    In the context menu of any cell under the Action header:

    • Choose Set Dynamic Value to enter a dynamic value and in the drop down menu that appears, choose Add New Expression to enter compound expressions.

      You can also choose an alias or definition in the drop down menu.

    • If you choose Set Initial Value in the context menu of any cell under the Action header, that particular row of the decision table does not get fired even if all the other conditions are satisfied.

  2. Save the changes.

Note Note

  • In the context menu of any cell under the condition and action headers, there are options such as:

    • Delete: Allows you to delete condition and action values

    • Move Up and Move Down: Allows you to rearrange values

    • Copy and Paste: Allows you to duplicate values
