Getting Started 

With the portal content modeling tools, you can create a collection of portal content objects that make up the structure of an application. You can also reuse existing application components, created with Visual Composer or other tools, such as Web Dynpro, and embed them in this structure.

The portal content modeling tools are targeted at non-programmer users, such as business process experts or content developers, who have the following skills:

·        Expertise in the relevant business domain

·        Knowledge of SAP NetWeaver Portal and its content administration

·        Familiarity with Visual Composer

The tools significantly improve user experience in the following areas:

·        Convenience, ease of use and speed compared to the existing portal administration tools

·        End-to-end implementation and deployment in a single environment

·        Reuse of existing portal content objects and applications

·        Packaging and deployment

·        Lifecycle management, including source control

Prerequisites

·        SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 with Visual Composer and the portal is installed and configured. For detailed information, see Prerequisites and Configuring the Portal.

·        Adobe Flash Player 9 or higher is installed on the client computer from which you access Visual Composer.

To download and install it, go to http://www.adobe.com.

·        A portal user account is assigned to the VisualComposerUser, VC Dev Preview and Content Administrator roles.

·        The portal is configured in Visual Composer as the default runtime.

To do this, choose Tools → Options, and in the Options pane, expand the Compile node and choose Portal from the Default runtime drop-down list.

·        Software component dependencies for the portal modeling component EP-MODELING are configured in NWDI.

EP-MODELING component depends on the following components:
