Administering PCD Content Using PCD InspectorLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

Using the PCD Inspector tool, you can analyze the objects stored in the PCD. For example, you can search for an object, or display the properties of an object. You can also use PCD Inspector to centrally modify PCD objects.

Caution

Changes to the PCD cannot be undone. Thus, only persons with expert knowledge of the PCD should use PCD Inspector to modify PCD objects, to reduce the risk of causing irreversible damage to the portal by corrupting or losing data.

Note that instead of using PCD Inspector to make changes to the PCD, you can use the standard administration tools for content management and content maintenance. More information: Using the Portal Catalog and Using Object Editors

With PCD Inspector you can:

  • Search for PCD objects

  • Display object properties

  • Visualize object dependencies and delta links

  • Compare object properties

  • Copy, change or delete object properties

  • Display the where-used list for linked objects

  • Adjust data for portal content migration
