Use

The Knowledge Management user interface can be modified extensively. To obtain information on the configuration of the elements used for representation during routine operations, you do not have to look in the configuration. You can get this information using the Rendering Information link in the left-hand upper area of a window.

Features

The user that needs access to this information needs to be defined in the configuration.

Configuration

To define the user for which debugging information is to be displayed, choose System Administration → System Configuration → Knowledge Management → Content Management → User Interface → Show Advanced Options → Debugging Settings → WdfProxy.

If you now call up a folder or an iView, the Rendering Information link is displayed in the upper left-hand area of the window.

Functions in the Rendering Information Window

The functions and information offered are primarily aimed at experienced administrators and SAP Support.

You can use the following functions:

Save Capabilities to:

You can use this function to store information on the collection and resource renderers used in a CSV file.

This file contains information on which implementation of a renderer supports which parameters.

Save RenderObjectsOutput to:

You can use this function to store information that is displayed in this iView under Render Objects in a text file.

Save CustomizingControllerOutput to:

You can use this function to store information that is displayed in this iView under Customizing Information in a text file.

 

You can use the following commands and information:

  • UICommand Information

    The link opens a browser window containing all commands and command groups that are available in the system.

  • UICollectionRendererSettings Information

    The link opens a browser window containing all collection renderer settings that are available in the system.

  • UIFactories Information

    Displays information on the loaded JAVA classes.

  • OTH Overview

    The link calls up an overview of all OTH files. Choose Reload to reload OTH information to the system.

    Choose Details View to see which OTH files are used for the selected resource. Choose Check OTHs to start the resource check. Choose List all OTHs to return to the overview of OTH files.

  • Show in Admin Explorer

    The link opens the folder from which you chose the Rendering Information link and displays it using the AdminExplorer layout set. This provides administrators with more functions for troubleshooting than does the layout set with errors.

If you open the Render Objects area, you obtain information on the elements below.

Note

The following information is only valid for the window that you called this iView from.

Java classes that can be used for rendering do not always give information on the rendering. Certain Java classes might therefore not appear in the overview.

  • Proxy

    Displays general settings and information on the dynamic screen flow and iView parameters.

  • Layout Controller

    Displays the layout controller and the controls it contains.

  • Control

    Displays the commands used.

  • Collection Renderer

    Displays the Java classes used to implement the collection renderer .

    When you open an entry, you see an overview of the current parameterization. This list does not necessarily match the collection renderer settings (see Priority of Settings ).

  • Resource Renderer

    Displays the Java classes used to implement the resource renderer .

    When you open an entry, you see an overview of the current parameterization. This list does not necessarily match the resource renderer settings (see Priority of Settings ).

  • UI Command Menu

    Displays information on the command group belonging to the resource and on the first level of this command group.

  • Resource List Filter

    Displays the resource list filters used (see Filter Service for Resource Lists ).

  • Component

    Displays information on the UI components used.

  • Property Renderer

    Displays information on the property renderers used.

  • Renderer Status

    Displays information on the Java classes responsible for the overview and sorting of the displayed resources for a collection renderer.

If you open the Customizing Information area, you obtain information on the current parameterization of the user interface for this folder. This includes the relevant default settings, specifications in OTH files, and iView or URL parameters.

Use the Customizing Information area to find information on the folder and the layout set used.
