Creating Device GroupsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

A device group is an object that contains one or more user agent definitions. You can create as many device groups as you require. For each device group, you define its priority for runtime evaluation, its type, and the user agents that belong to the device group. You can then use the device groups in rule collections, to define which desktop should be displayed for users using access devices that belong to a certain device group.

Procedure
  1. In the portal, navigate to Start of the navigation path System Administration Next navigation step System Configuration Next navigation step Portal Display Next navigation step  Device Group Manager End of the navigation path .

  2. In the Device Group manager, in the Device Groups area, choose New . The New Device Group dialog box opens.

  3. Enter a name, type, and optional description for the device group.

  4. Choose Create . The device group is added to the Device Groups area.

  5. Choose Save .

You can now specify the priority for the device group and add user agent definitions to the device group.

For more information, see Defining Device Group Priority and Adding User Agent Definitions to Device Groups .

Note

You can modify a device group at any time by changing it inline in the Device Groups table.
