Use

To enable a search of business objects, you must set up the search engine service.

Prerequisite
  • A TREX system is installed and accessible through an Gateway.

    For more information, see the SAP NetWeaver 2007 Search and Classification (TREX) installation guide.

  • Customizing for the search engine service has been completely defined.

    You make the settings in the Web Application Server ABAP in the Implementation Guide (transaction SPRO) under SAP NetWeaver → SAP Web Application Server → Enterprise Search → Search Engine Service.

Activities
  1. Create the necessary indexes to be able to index business objects for the search.

  2. Schedule periodic indexing to ensure that the indexed business objects always have the latest version.
