Selecting and Deselecting RowsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use
Introduction

You have various options for selecting rows and cells, depending on what you are using the list for:

  • The list does not contain any pushbuttons on the left-hand border.

    • You can only select one row at a time.

    • You can select multiple rows.

  • The list contains pushbuttons on the left-hand border.

    • You can select multiple rows single cells.

    • You can select multiple rows and multiple cells.

Process
  • If the list does not have pushbuttons on the left-hand border, you mark a row by clicking on an entry in it.

  • If the list has pushbuttons on the left-hand border, you mark a row by clicking on the pushbutton for the row in question.

In this case, you select the corresponding cell by clicking on an entry in the row.

In both cases:

To select multiple rows, press the Shift key, and select the rows in question following the instructions above.

  • Neighbouring rows:

    Select a row, press the Shift or Ctrl key, and select the rows in question, or.

    Press the Shift key and select the first and last rows in question, or:

    Select a row, hold down the mouse button, and move the mouse over the rows in question.

  • Non-neighbouring rows:

    Select a row, press the Ctrl key, and select the rows in question.

  • All rows:

    You can only select all rows at once if your list has pushbuttons on the left-hand border. To select all rows, choose .

To select single rows, press the Ctrl key, and click the rows in question.

Result

When rows are selected, their background color turns orange. You can tell the position of your cursor by the yellow background color.
