Starting the Send Process in DialogLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

For test purposes, it is possible to start a send process in dialog. As a general rule, periodic scheduling of background jobs is recommended.

Procedure

You have two options for starting the send process; from SCOT or from SOST. The send process can take place from SCOT or SOST for all messages in the wait queue or for a specific address type. To do this, you proceed as follows:

  1. Star SOST or SCOT

  2. Choose Start of the navigation path Utilities Next navigation step Start Send Process End of the navigation path.

  3. You can select the following in the dialog box:

    1. An Address Type for which the send process is to run (all messages in the wait queue are sent for address type *).

    2. The Number of Work Processes that the send process can use.

    3. The Server Group on which the send process is to run.

    4. You can set further parameters for parallelizing the send process using the Details pushbutton.

      You can find more information about all parameters using the pushbutton.

  4. Start the send process using the confirmation pushbutton.

In transaction SOST it is also possible to only

send a specific selection of outbound messages. To do this, you proceed as follows:

  1. You start transaction SOST.

  2. Select the messages that are to be sent by the send process.

  3. Select the Start Send Process for Selection button.

  4. To confirm the security check, choose Yes.

Result

The send process is started immediately.

If an SAPconnect Trace is activated, you can display the results by choosing Start of the navigation path Utilities Trace Next navigation step Internal Trace End of the navigation path.
