Target Selection
This area of the Object-Based Navigation Editor may contain roles and navigation content (iViews, pages). When a role is added to target selection, all the navigation content assigned to that role appears under it hierarchically. Once located in target selection, the content objects can be implemented as OBN navigation targets.
Adding roles and navigation content is done from the Portal Content folder of the Portal Catalog by right-clicking the object and choosing Add to Target Selection from the context menu.
Locate Objects in Portal Content
The target selection area may contain a great many objects in a production environment, with some distinct objects even having the same name; therefore it is useful to be able to locate these objects in the portal content folder of the Portal Catalog.
To do so, right-click any object under Target Selection , and choose Locate in PCD . The object, or the role under which it is located in the target selection area, is highlighted in the Portal Catalog.
If an object is under a role in the target selection area, it cannot itself be located in the PCD because it is not a unit object. The role, however, is a unit object and will be highlighted in the portal content folder. This narrows your search for the selected object.
Objects in the target selection area that are not within a role are unit objects and will themselves be located in the PCD.

Remove All Remove |
Remove All clears the target selection area. Remove clears the selection together with its children. These commands pertain only to the Object-Based Navigation Editor and have no effect on the respective objects in the PCD. |

Hide/Show |
Hide becomes active upon selection of an object with children, such as a role with associated navigation content or a page containing iViews or other pages. Hide collapses the object in the target selection area and hides its child objects, which were added as targets, in the Navigation Manager table, showing only the respective operation. Show becomes active when objects have been hidden. |
All Implemented Targets
Clicking the All Implemented Targets link, below the Target Selection area, hides the objects displayed in the Navigation Manager that are not implemented as navigation targets.
Advanced Role Search
The Advanced Role Search link opens a utility that enables finding roles and adding them to the target area. See Advanced Role Search .
