Displaying an Error ListLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

The Error List function gives you the option of displaying an overview of all test runs with errors for a particular time period, for example, or for a selected starter. The error list has the following advantages over the log display:

  • It only lists tests with errors. Tests that have status Passed upon completion are not displayed.

  • It can display the errors of multiple eCATT runs, whereas logs only list the errors for a particular run.

  • It has sort and filter functions for a better overview, for example, in the case of recurring errors.

You can call the error list display from the initial screen of transaction SECATT as well as on both log display screens (list of selected logs and display of individual log).

Note

To call the error list from the menu; choose Goto->Display Error List. If you call the error list from one of the log views (in the eCATT log selection, a log from the list must be selected), a shortened version of the selection screen appears and a corresponding value is already entered in the Procedure Number input field.

Calling from Initial Screen of Translation SECATT

If you call the error list from the initial screen of transaction SECATT, a selection screen is displayed, which gives you a number of options for restricting the test in question as well as the errors that occurred. The screen is divided into three large blocks.

Context

The Context section contains all options related to the execution of the test you want to investigate.

Error Limitation

This block contains further options for limiting the error. For example, you can select the time at which the error occurred. As well as the type and origin of the message, you can also select four properties relating to the message table T100: Message Type, Message Text, Message ID, and Message Number.

Scope of Output

In the last block, you have the option of optimizing the display of the results list for your requirements.

Once you have selected all the options you require, choose Execute. The next screen displays all relevant entries in a large table. This table may have a very large number of columns and therefore has additional display functions to enable you to quickly hide or show information. For more detailed information about the functions of this table, see Working with the Error List for Test Executions.

Note

To vary the scope of the selection options on the selection screen, choose Get Variants... in the toolbar ("variant" in this case means the report variant for generating the selection screen, not the test configuration variants).
