The page to which you are adding content is not locked for editing by another user.
All pages and iViews to be added to the page are available in the Portal Catalog or can be uploaded from a back-end system.
You have write permissions for the page and the content that you want to add.
You are familiar with the Isolation Method of iViews and Navigation Caching .
You use the Page editor to add content to the page and to define its layout. Content that you add to a page is automatically displayed in the page content list.
You cannot add content to, or remove content from, pages that originate from external repositories. To add content to a page that originates in an external repository, create a new page, add the copied page to that page, and then add additional content.
In the Portal Catalog, in the context menu of the page to which you want to add content, choose
. The Page editor appears.Add content as follows:
To add a page or iView from the Portal Catalog, from the context menu of the object to be added choose

Mixing Web Dynpro iViews and portal pages generates a warning message concerning the isolation method of the iViews. For more information, see Isolation Method of iViews .
To create a new iView for the page, choose Creating iViews from Remote Sources .
or from the button above the content list. For more information, seeDrag the page or iView to be added from the Portal Catalog to the open page and drop it in the appropriate container.
The page or iView is added to the page content list. It is also assigned to the container (column) at the top-left corner of the page. If this container already contains an object, the new object is added after the existing object. You can then move it to a different container by selecting the container from the dropdown list in the Container column of the object row or by dragging it to the other container.
You can define the behavior of each object added to the page, as follows:
Select the Visible checkbox to indicate whether the object is displayed when the page first opens
Select the Fixed checkbox to indicate whether portal users can minimize the object at runtime, but cannot remove it from the page through personalization.
Select the Locked Position checkbox to indicate whether portal users can change the location of the iView on the page.
This option is only available when configured by an administrator.
Change the location of an object within its container by dragging the object up or down within the list.
Move an object to a different location by dragging it to the target container.
You can view the ID of an object by holding the cursor over the object name in the page content list.

You can preview the page in a new window by choosing the Preview button at the top of the page.
When you have finished, choose Save .
