Working with Translator ProfilesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

For background information, see Translator Profiles .

You must assign a profile to every translator and coordinator created in the system. Each translator has one profile for each target language.

You cannot create translators until translator profiles are available.

You can create your own translator profiles, or activate the SAP sample profiles, which you can then modify in accordance with your requirements, if necessary.

Procedure

The table below explains how to proceed in transaction LXE_MASTER for the three possible activities:

Activate the SAP standard translator profiles

Choose Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step Translator Profiles Next navigation step Activate Standard Profiles End of the navigation path. For an explanation of each sample profile, see Translator Profiles .

Modify an existing translator profile

  1. On the Translators tab page, choose Translator Profiles.

    The Translator Profile dialog box appears. In contains a list of all profiles that are already defined.

  2. Double-click the translator profile that you want to modify.

    The Profiles dialog box appears. It contains a list of all available authorization objects. The authorizations included in this profile have a value in the Val. field.

  3. To add an authorization to this profile, enter a value in the Val. field for the authorization object in question- you can use the input help (F4) to help you or choose Authorizations to display an overview of all authorizations and their possible values.

  4. To remove an authorization from this profile, either delete or change the value in the Val. field for the authorization object in question.

  5. Choose Save.

Create a new translator profile

  1. On the Translators tab page, choose Translator Profiles .

    The Translator Profile dialog box appears. In contains a list of all profiles that are already defined.

  2. Double-click Create New Profile .

    The Profiles dialog box appears. It contains a list of all available authorization objects.

  3. In the Profile field, enter a two-character ID for the new profile, then enter a description for your profile in the field on the right

  4. Enter a value in the Val. field for the authorization objects you require for the new profile - you can use the input help (F4) to help you or choose Authorizations to display an overview of all authorizations and their possible values. If you leave the Val. field blank for a specific authorization object, then this authorization object is not included in the translator profile.

  5. Choose Save.

Result

The translator profiles that you defined or activated are now available.
