Translating from the Worklist PoolLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

You are authorized as a coordinator for the target language and your translator profile must include the authorization TRW3 with value 01 .

Context

If you are defined as a coordinator for a particular target language you can use the worklist pool to call up objects from the standard worklist in collections that are not assigned to you. When you call these objects in your worklist, they are not reserved in your worklist but simply loaded, which means that other translators can reserve the same objects for translation in a standard worklist at the same time. The worklist pool has the advantage that you can work on the objects in the collections of another translator (perhaps during short-term absence) without having to reassign all of their collections. It is also useful to a coordinator for viewing and accessing an object if a translator has reported a problem without needing to reset that translator's worklist.

Procedure

  1. Call transaction SE63 and choose Start of the navigation path Worklist Next navigation step Standard End of the navigation path.
  2. Under Language Pair , set the Source Language and Target Language and, if you want to reset an existing worklist before accessing a new worklist, select the Reset Worklist checkbox.
  3. Choose Apply .
  4. On the Worklist Pool tab page you can see the source and target language and the worklist number. Make the required settings on this tab page:
    • Collections

On the pushbutton next to Collections , the system displays the number of collections that are assigned to you. To select a collection that is assigned to another translator, choose the pushbutton next to Collections and select the required collections.

    • Domains

All domains are selected by default. If you only want to call up a worklist for objects belonging to particular domains, choose the pushbutton next to Domains . This takes you to the Domain Selection dialog box. The selected domains are highlighted in yellow. After you have made your selections, choose Execute to return to the Worklist Pool screen.

    • Object Types

All of the object types that are defined for translation into your target language are selected by default. If you only want to call up a worklist for particular object types, choose the pushbutton next to Object Types . This takes you to the Object Types dialog box where the selected object types are highlighted in yellow. After you have made your selections, choose Execute to return to the Worklist Pool screen.

    • If you only want to call up objects that contain a specific text string in their name, enter this string as a wildcard in the Object Name field.

      Example

To access only those objects in the object list whose name contains the string CRM , enter *CRM* in the Object Name field.

    • Number per Object Type

The value displayed by the system in this field is taken from the worklist settings that are maintained in transaction SE63.

    • Status of Objects

The Status of Objects checkboxes enable you to determine whether you want to load objects with New , Modified , or Translated units in your worklist. The New and Modified checkboxes are selected by default. We recommend that you only call up 100% translated objects in your worklist if you have a specific reason for doing so, for example, because you want to change a particular translation.

  5. Choose Load Objects .

The system calls up the objects from the object list that match your selection criteria and makes them available in a temporary worklist. This worklist is not stored in the system, so you need to repeat this procedure the next time you log on to the system.

Results

The system takes you to the Worklist: Object List for User Name from Source Language to Target Language screen. The system loads the objects in your worklist in accordance with your settings: These objects are not reserved in your worklist.
