KPI Monitor
You use this function to configure and monitor various KPIs in a single screen. You can create, save and edit search templates to monitor the KPIs available in the SAP MII Workbench. A search template is a set of rules that returns a set of information about all the KPIs configured in that search template. KPI values can be searched for specific dimensions or specific dimension values for a selected time period. The created search templates can be exported from one system and can be imported into any target system.
To view the KPIs, you have been assigned XMII_KPIMonitor_Read action.
To view the query and display templates in the KPI Monitor screen, you have configured the same for every KPI in the Visualization panel on the SAP MI Workbench screen.
You can create, copy, and delete search templates on the KPI Monitor screen which is integrated with KPI framework. The KPI objects created in the workbench are monitored by specifying different search parameters. KPIs added in the search template are role-specific, you can view the KPIs while adding them to a search template only if you are authorized. Also, you can display the KPI values graphically using View KPI Data and View Analytics. You can create search criteria and add the properties like name, description, and duration for which you want the KPI data to be queried. To display the general properties, threshold ranges and dimensions of the KPIs, choose View Details.
You can choose different time periods for a search template from the Duration field. The Duration field displays different time periods as configured in the Times Period screen. To customize the duration, choose Custom and enter valid start and end date.
The KPI Monitor screen has two panels:
Search Template Details
You can add, copy, or delete KPIs, and save, reset and edit search templates in this panel. On configuring the search templates, you can search and view the results, save or revert back to the previous configuration using the Reset button. The Search Template Details has two columns:

You can export and import the search templates to different locations.
On choosing Export from the KPI Monitor screen, you are prompted to save KPIMonitor.xml file to the specified file system. The KPIMonitor.xml file contains the details of all search templates created for that logged in user. The XML file along with the KPI search templates available in the SAP MII system for that logged-in user are exported to the chosen file system.
You can also import the KPI search templates by choosing Import on the KPI Monitor screen. You have to browse to the location of the KPIMonitor.xml on the file system. The import operation is successful only if all the KPIs exported from the source system exists on the destination system. Also, the file structure of the source system must be an exact replica of the file structure on the SAP MII Workbench. The import operation is aborted if there is a mismatch of the file structures in the source and destination system. The details of the abort will be available in the logs. The log file displays the list of files available in the destination system. To ensure the file structure in the destination system, export the project structure using the Projects screen.
Note
You can also import and export the search templates from the Configurations screen only if you have logged in with administrative permissions. When you export, the search templates created by all the users on the SAP MII system will be exported to the specified location as a zip file, KPI Monitor.zip. Similarly, on importing all the search templates created by all the users are imported. If the import is successful, you can access only those search templates that you created on the source system.
