You tell the system about the details of your shop floor so that it can track shop floor-related master data.

Prerequisites

You have set up the system (Setting Up the System).

Process

  1. In Resource Maintenance, you create records to represent the machinery your operators work with or the places where they work (see Resource and Resource Maintenance).

  2. In Resource Type Maintenance, you define resource types (see Resource Type Maintenance).

  3. You assign resources to resource types in either Resource Maintenance or Resource Type Maintenance.

  4. In Work Center Maintenance, you define work centers for your shop floor (see Work Center and Work Center Maintenance).

  5. In Operation Maintenance, you create records to represent the actions machines and production operators perform on the shop floor, called operations, and assign a resource type to each operation (see Operation and Operation Maintenance).

  6. In Routing Maintenance, you define routings that reflect the processes on your shop floor (see Routing and Routing Maintenance).

You can also write any necessary scripting for branched routings.

  7. In Work Instruction Maintenance, you define work instruction records that you want to display to operators in the POD (see Work Instruction and Work Instruction Maintenance).

  8. If required, you define certifications in Certification Maintenance and associate them with resources and operations (see Certification and Certification Maintenance).

  9. You set up hook point activities (see Hook Point Activity).
