You use this activity to create and change certification records associated with the following objects:

This activity allows you to do the following:

  • Control which users can perform specific operations on the Enforcement tab page

    Helps you prevent operators without the proper expertise from performing certain tasks on your floor

  • Notify personnel that a certification is nearing expiration

  • Collect custom data for certifications

Integration

You use certifications in Resource Maintenance, Material Maintenance, Customer Order Maintenance, and Operation Maintenance.

Fields

The following table describes fields requiring explanation:

Main Tab

Field

Description

Duration Type

The duration type of the current certification

Temporary: The certification expires after a set time period.

Permanent: The certification never expires.

Note that the Temporary Duration Type enables the Duration, Max Number of Extensions, Max Extension Duration fields.

Duration

The length of time for which the current certification is valid.

The unit of measure for duration: Days, Weeks, Months, or Years.

Status

The status of the user certification

Cert Enabled: The certification is valid for use.

Cert Hold: The certification is on hold.

Cert Obsolete: The certification is no longer valid for use.

Max Number of Extensions

The maximum number of times an extension can be applied to the certification

Max Extension Duration

The maximum length for the extension of the certification

The unit of measure for the maximum extension duration: Days, Weeks, Months, or Years
