Kit components are used at one or more manufacturing operations.

You can use kits to improve product traceability during the manufacturing process. In Assembly Point, you can associate kit components with an SFC number that is released (see SFC Number). As the top-level assembly is built, kit components and the assembly data of these components are confirmed through an activity during the actual build of the product. The Confirm Component activity ensures that the components and associated assembly data in a kit SFC number are the actual components that are assembled on the actual top-level SFC number.
