Installing Equipment with Simultaneous Material
Movement
You want to remove a piece of equipment from storage and install it in a superordinate piece of equipment or in a functional location.

This function is only possible for equipment with a material number and serial number.
...
1. Choose Logistics → Plant Maintenance → Maintenance of Technical Objects → Configuration Control → Installation and Dismantling of Components from the SAP Easy Access screen.
2. In the mode list field, select Install Equipment with Material Movement if the appropriate screen is not automatically displayed.
3. There are different options available for entering the required data:
a. Enter either a piece of equipment or a material and a serial number in the Install Object group box.
■ Enter either a reservation or a movement type.
■ Enter a reference order, if required.
■ Enter an installation location.

If the actual configuration of the object concerned is linked with its master parts list, you can choose Get Installation Location to have the system propose an installation location. This function is only active if the fields for the installation location are not filled.
b. If you have maintained a master parts list for the object concerned, enter an installation location in the Installation Location group box, and choose Get Material to have the system generate a proposal for the material to be installed.
■ Enter the serial number of the material that you want to install.
■ Enter either a reservation or a movement type.
■ Enter a reference order, if required.
4.
If you want to
simulate the installation before saving, choose
Check. You can display the search
result in a full screen application log. Choose
Application Log to do this.
5. Save your entries.

You may have
to activate the forced installation to override an error message issued by the
system. In this case, choose
Forced Installation/Dismantling
and confirm the message in the following dialog box.
A forced installation is only possible after the simulation of the installation has taken place.
● The equipment is installed in the superordinate object and the corresponding material is removed from storage.
● If the corresponding Business Add-In is active, a notification is generated or updated.
● If you use the functions integrated in the Configuration Control Workbench, you may have installed the equipment in a structure gap. In this case, the structure gap is automatically deleted.
● If a forced installation was used to install the equipment, a corresponding indicator is set on the Configuration Control tab page in the equipment master record.
