Processing Cancel-Part Relationships
Define a progression for the exchange or swapping of structure node variants of the master parts list. For example, a part represented by an iPPE structure variant could replace an older part, that is, another structure node variant of the same structure node.
You have loaded the corresponding iPPE object of your master parts list in the iPPE Workbench.
To access the iPPE Workbench, go to the SAP Easy Access screen and choose Logistics → Production → Master Data → Integrated Product and Process Engineering.
...
1.
Select the desired
structure node variant, which should replace
another variant, in the loaded iPPE structure.
2. Choose the Classification tab page.
3.
Choose
Class System.
The screen iPPE: Classification is displayed.
4. Enter the class, the class type, and the corresponding variant in the Object group box.

In Customizing you can define a default class and a default class type for the iPPE node types. You can find the corresponding IMG activity in the production Implementation Guide (IMG) under Integrated Product and Process Engineering → iPPE Object Administration → Define General iPPE Node Types.
5. Assign the class in the Class Assignment group box.
6. Enter the part to be replaced as the characteristic for the structure node variant, which was specified in step 4, in the General group box.
7. Save your entries.
8. Repeat steps 1-7 for further variants of the respective structure node.
The parts to be replaced are saved as characteristics of the respective structure node variants.

After activating the BAdI implementation PPE_MENU_PARTPROG of the BAdI PPEGI_CTMENU you can use the context menu to display a graphic view of the part progression defined.
You can find the corresponding implementation from the SAP Easy Access screen under Tools → ABAP Workbench → Utilities → Business Add-Ins → Implementation.
In Customizing, you can activate the check of the cancel-part relationships for the installation of equipment in available structure gaps. The cancel-part check establishes whether a structure node variant is valid according to defined part progressions.

You can find the corresponding IMG activity in the IMG for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under Maintain General Settings for the Interface for the iPPE Workbench.
