Function documentationDefinition of User Layouts with Characteristics Locate this document in the navigation structure

You can use this function to define user layouts in single-level list editing for technical objects (functional locations and equipment).

Features

Once you have chosen one or more classes in the list display for technical objects with characteristics (see Displaying Characteristics), the system generates a standard layout for each class. The system proceeds as follows:

It checks if a standard layout has been defined in the class transaction (CL02) for each of the selected classes. If so, the system uses the standard layout. If not, it automatically generates a standard layout using the name /internal class number.

Note Note

The system updates the standard layout /internal class number every time you select the class.

End of the note.

You define a user layout with one or more classes as follows:

  • User layout with one class

You can define a user layout for the class you have selected by choosing Layout for Characteristics and the option Change and Save Layout. You decide which characteristics of this class should be shown or hidden and save your selection. The system proposes the name Zinternal class number for the user layout.

You enter a description for your user layout and save your entries. The system saves this as a user-specific layout.

If you have selected just one class, or the system has found just one class, and you have defined a user layout for that class, the system automatically uses this user layout. If you have not defined a user layout for this class, the system uses its standard layout.

    Note Note

If you change the name proposed by the system for the user layout Zinternal class number, the system cannot automatically use this user layout for this class.

    End of the note.

You can define more than one user layout for a class. You pick the user layout you want to use by choosing the Layout for Characteristics pushbutton and then the option Choose Layout.

  • User layout for more than one class

You can define a user layout with more than one class for the classes you selected by choosing Layout for Characteristics and the option Change and Save Layout.

You decide which characteristics of these classes should be shown or hidden and save your selection. You enter a name and a description for your user layout and save your entries. The system saves this as a user-specific layout.

By choosing Manage Layout..., you can save a user layout as the default layout. When you select more than one class, the system automatically uses the default user layout.

    Note Note

The system only displays characteristics that are defined in both the default user layout and in the selected classes. If the default user layout does not match the selected classes, the system does not display any characteristics in the list.

    End of the note.
