Parking Budget
Budget parking is used to update budgets, but the update can be approved or rejected in Workflow. You can also use budget parking to allocate original budget in Workflow for the new fiscal year.
You can park data for the original budget, supplements, returns, releases, and transfers. You can enter a value date, from which the parked budget can be transferred to the current budget or, in the case of releases, to the budget released up to now.
You can display parked budget by creating a drilldown report which contains the characteristic values “Value type” or “Reservation” and “Earmarked fund” for the evaluation of the budget. For more information, see Totals record reports
Parked budget is subject to the consistency check and availability control. However, there are differences between reservations and earmarked funds:
Reservations
Budget reductions (such as returns or transfers) are reserved - that is, the available budget for the sender funds center and commitment item is reduced immediately.
Earmarked funds
Budget increases (such as supplements or transfers) are earmarked - that is, the available budget for the receiver funds center and commitment item is not increased immediately. The budget is not available for use until the parked budget is transferred to the current budget.
You cannot change the amounts in parked documents. However, you can use a rejected document as a template document and change that document accordingly.
Batch input is possible for parked documents.
If, in budget parking, documents must be released in Workflow before they are posted, you must enter the appropriate settings in the Funds Management IMG; under . The individual steps involved for earmarked funds and funds transfers workflow are described there. For information on the settings required for budget parking, see Workflow: Budget Parking .
