Displaying Periodic Budgets
All the budgeting transactions contain a facility for distributing annual values, if you are working with them, to individual periods. You can use distribution keys to have the system make the distribution automatically, according to various criteria. The total of the periods is always the annual value.
Periodic display of the annual budget is only used for statistical purposes. Budget utilization is displayed according to period in reporting. Active availability control, however, always checks against the annual budget. The system does not undertake a consistency check for the period budget, when distributing. The consistency check always takes place on an annual level.
In order to implement the periodic budget representation, you must make the appropriate settings in the Funds Management Government Customizing, in the step Maintain budget profiles . For further information refer to the documentation of this step.
Note that the period values must already be activated there at production startup. If annual values were already entered in the budget, then the period values may not subsequently be activated in the budget profile.
If you are working with funds, you can only activate the period values for new funds after production startup. In this case however, consider that you must create at least one budget profile (with period values) for this fund and assign it to this fund.
