Procedure

  1. On the initial screen of Mobile Maintenance, enter the name of the POD into the Mobile POD field.

  2. On the Main tab page, enter the required information. The following table describes fields requiring explanation:

    If enabled, allows you to use this POD on the shop floor

  3. On the Application List tab page, define the mobile applications or views that appear in the POD by inserting new rows in the table.

    1. On the Details screen, enter the following data:

      • The order in which the activity appears on the SAP ME Mobile home screen

      ID

      The internal name for the button

      Note Note

      The button ID must be unique.

      Label

      Displays a label for the application as listed on the SAP ME Mobile home screen

      If you want your label to be internationalized, you must enter the label in the correct format. For example, to internationalize the Start label, enter I18N[start.default.BUTTON]. I18N is an abbreviation for the word internationalization. The text between the brackets is the identifier for the label.

      Image Icon

      Displays a graphic on the application to help the operator identify what the application does. Appears to the left of the application label if both a label and an icon are defined.

      Activity

      The activity ID the system runs when the operator chooses this button in the POD.

      The browse lists all activities but the activities of the Mobile View type are prefaced with MOBILE. An activity is defined with the Mobile View type in Activity Maintenance (see Activity Types).

      Browse on the Activity field in Activity Maintenance for a list of IDs.

    2. Save your entries.

  4. On the Configuration Options tab page, define what the system displays in the upper half of all Mobile POD applications (see Mobile POD):

    Default Operation

    The name of the operation the POD displays in the Operation field when an operator opens the POD

    If you leave it blank, no operation is displayed. Supplying this value eliminates the need for the operator to enter it every time he or she opens the POD.

    Default Resource

    The name of the resource the POD displays in the Resource field when an operator opens the POD

    Operation Can Be Changed

    If selected, allows operators to change the operation the POD displays in the Operation field

    Resource Can Be Changed

    If selected, allows operators to change the resource the POD displays in the Resource field

    Note that this field applies to the Operation and Mobile PODs only.

  5. Save your entries.
