Status Management
Status management is used in the SAP system to control commercial transactions. This is effected by the allocation of one or more statuses to an object. Status management is available in Funds Management. You can use it to control commercial transactions by assigning one or more statuses to a master data object. A status can permit or forbid a commercial transaction, or have no effect on it.
In Funds Management , you can set the following statuses within an FM area, for one fiscal year:
Status for a particular combination of funds center/commitment item/fund
Comprehensive status (such as for all funds centers, all commitment items, or all funds)
If you want to use SAP status management within the Funds Management component, you have to activate it first.
To activate status management, you have to define a status profile and store it in the FM area. Status profiles are maintained within the Funds Management IMG. This is where the assignment of the status profile to the FM area takes place. To execute both functions, choose in the Funds Management Implementation Guide.
For this, read User Status
If you do not assign a status profile to an FM area, status management is not active and all business transactions, such as material purchase orders and G/L account postings, are permitted.
