Scenario 2

Document splitting is activated, no account assignment element for reassignment is updated in new General Ledger Accounting, but at least one account assignment element for reassignment is a document splitting characteristic in new General Ledger Accounting.

In this case, the reassignment can be performed during a fiscal year or during a change in fiscal year. The document splitting information of the affected documents is automatically reassigned in new General Ledger Accounting to ensure that the follow-on processes (such as payment) receive the new FM account assignments.

Since the account assignments are not updated in new General Ledger Accounting, no transfer posting is required.

For this scenario, you do not need to create a reorganization plan or make any settings in Customizing for Financial Accounting (New) under   General Ledger Accounting (New)   Reorganization  .

Prerequisites and Constraints
  • Documents from FI-CA cannot be reassigned. This is also true for down payments, down payment clearings, and down payment requests.

  • The FI document reference (field KNBELNR) is defined as a technical document splitting characteristic.

If the FI document reference is missing, for example, for documents from migration phase 0 that have been migrated to new General Ledger Accounting, the specific information for Funds Management is missing in document splitting. This means that the reassignment in this case is possible for Funds Management, but the document splitting information in new General Ledger Accounting does not have to be reassigned.

  • Note that receivables cannot be reassigned.

  • For this scenario, the automatic reassignment of fixed assets is not possible.

Scenario 3

Document splitting is not activated but at least one account assignment element for reassignment is updated in new General Ledger Accounting.

For this scenario, you do not need to create a reorganization plan or make any settings in Customizing for Financial Accounting (New) under   General Ledger Accounting (New)   Reorganization  .

In this scenario, the reassignment is only performed in Funds Management; no reassignment and no transfer postings are performed in new General Ledger Accounting.

Prerequisites and Constraints
  • A reassignment is not permitted in the entry view of Financial Accounting. This means that the original invoice is never changed. That is to say, implementation of the Business Add-Ins (BadI) BAdI for the Reassignment Too (FMCH) with the method Force Reassignment of FI Original Documents (FMCH_BADI_2) triggers an error message informing you that the reassignment of FI documents is not possible (message FMUP 120).

  • Documents from FI-CA cannot be reassigned. This is also true for down payments, down payment clearings, and down payment requests.

  • Note that receivables cannot be reassigned.

  • For this scenario, the automatic reassignment of fixed assets is not possible.

Scenario 4

FM account assignments to be reassigned are not updated in new General Ledger Accounting and document splitting is not activated. The reassignment of FM account assignments is performed solely in FM; there are no corresponding adjustments in new General Ledger Accounting.

For this scenario, you do not need to create a reorganization plan or make any settings in Customizing for Financial Accounting (New) under   General Ledger Accounting (New)   Reorganization  .

In this scenario, the reassignment is only performed in FM; no reassignment and no transfer postings are performed in new General Ledger Accounting.

Prerequisites and Constraints
  • Documents from FI-CA cannot be reassigned. This is also true for down payments, down payment clearings, and down payment requests.

  • Note that receivables cannot be reassigned.

  • For this scenario, the automatic reassignment of fixed assets is not possible.
