Enterprise-Specific Trip Rules

The Corporate Travel Policy for an enterprise is usually written as a detailed travel policy that controls the type and extent of the business trips allowed. In R/3 Travel Planning the travel policy is stored in trip rules and travel profiles that represent a flexible tool for managing travel policy. You can use these tools to present and combine rules for the different areas in the system, for example:

Routes and trip destinations (countries, regions, towns)

Trip category

Service classes

Trip duration and time scaling

Priorities

You make the settings for the travel profiles in Customizing for Travel Management under Travel Planning ® Trip Rules and Profiles.

By assigning the travelers travel profiles you can guarantee that the travel policy is upheld for each user. The assignment of the travel profiles can be controlled in the following ways:

individually per employee using Info type 0470 (travel profile) or

Collectively using organizational criteria via the characteristic TRVCP (see Customizing for Travel Management under Travel Planning ® Dialog and Planning Control ® Travel Planning Control ® Set up Feature TRVCP for Travel Planning).
