Use

From the R/3 Travel Planning System you can query Deutsche Bahn (German Railroad) train connections, order the appropriate rail ticket and reserve a seat.

If settings for a major customer ticket with Deutsche Bahn (German Railroad) and a rail card exist, the corresponding rates are taken into consideration when displaying the price and ordering the rail ticket.

Prerequisites

You have made the settings required for Deutsche Bahn (German Railroad) in Customizing.

Procedure

Querying the connection

You have called up the Planning Manager and entered the personnel number for the traveler.

  1. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Rail - with Quickinfo Add Rail Request

The Rail Request dialog box appears.

Enter the date, time, start and destination.
  1. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Avail. - with Quickinfo Availability Query (F8)

    2. You might have to enter a specific train station.

  2. Select the connection required and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Enter. - with Quickinfo Select Rail Connection (Enter).

Reserving your ticket and seat

  1. You can now specify whether you want a ticket with or without seat reservation.

    2. You can enter different preferences for a seat reservation.

  2. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Continue

The train connection is now added to your travel plan.

Booking

After selecting all the other travel services required, you can book all the requests for this trip:

  1. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Book - with Quickinfo Book Travel Plan (Ctrl+F11).

    2. The trip is firmly booked via the connected reservation system. A PNR is created and is later displayed in the Existing Travel Plans list in the planning manager.

  2. To save, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Save - with Quickinfo Save (Ctrl+S).

Issuing the ticket

The ticket is issued by the travel agency or travel center and forwarded to the traveler.
