You can perform a step-by-step analysis by looking at different key performance indicators (KPIs) from different perspectives. For example, you can look at the DSO as well as at factors influencing DSO, such as revenue or open receivables. You can analyze them by, for example, country, customer, or their development over time. To cover all these aspects, a number of predefined analysis steps are available. Analysis steps depict the data in tables or charts, for example, a map, a line chart, or a column chart.

To drill down and get more detailed information, you can filter the data displayed. By adding more analysis steps and applying filters, you make up your own flexible analysis paths and can save them for later use. For more information about how to work with analysis paths, see Using SAP Working Capital Analytics.

Some examples of typical analysis paths include the following:

  • As a first step, you look at DSO by Country to identify countries that have a critical DSO. In the map displayed, you then select those countries you want to focus on. In a next step, you can find out whether there are negative tendencies over time or systematic patterns for important factors that influence DSO.

  • You can look at DSO and Revenue by Customer to find the customers that have both a high revenue and a high DSO. These outliers can have a significant effect on your working capital. Select the relevant customers and then choose additional analysis steps to further explore the root causes.
