Business Context and Use

The Notify of Vehicle Appointment Change outbound operation sends a notification of a vehicle appointment change to a third party system, such as an external yard management system, that is connected to Site Logistic Processing. Changes to a vehicle appointment are communicated in order to reflect changes to a resource, activity, property, or appointment assignment.

For example, when a goods issue is posted for a vehicle, the Notify of Vehicle Appointment Change operation can be used to send the current vehicle data to update the external system.

Related Operations

Vehicle appointment changes in the back-end system are sent to a third-party system using either the Notify of Vehicle Appointment Creation , Notify of Vehicle Appointment Change , or Notify of Vehicle Appointment Cancellation operations.  However, vehicle appointment changes in a third-party system are sent to the back-end system using the vehicle appointment change operations. For example, the asynchronous Change Vehicle Appointment operation can be used to change vehicle appointment to the back-end system.  This is used in conjunction with the Confirm Change Vehicle Appointment outbound operation, which sends a response to the (asynchronous) Change Vehicle Appointment operation.

Features

You use the Notify of Vehicle Appointment Change operation to notify the external yard management system of a vehicle appointment change.

The vehicle appointment is uniquely identified via the yard resource appointment ID.  Common appointment changes include changes to the following:

  • Execution status code  (BusinessTransactionExecutionStatusCode)

  • Planned processing start period

  • Planned processing end period

  • Processing period

  • Carrier party

  • Gross weight

  • Blocking information

  • Locking information

  • Invoice before goods issue requested indicator

  • Resource information (means of transport)

  • Activity information (business process steps of the vehicle, status of the vehicle)

  • Property information (alternative vehicle identification)

  • Transportation unit (TU) assignments of the vehicle
