Actions
You can carry out the following actions in the Shipping Cockpit – Execution
:
Change TU
When the truck arrives physically, you may need to adapt some of the transportation unit (TU) attributes such as the carrier or the packaging material, or you may want to enter further information (reference number, driver) as a TU identification. You can do this using Change TU
in the execution view. Note that you can only change the carrier or the packaging material before posting the arrival at checkpoint.
Assign and Unassign Door
The Assign Door
action assigns a warehouse door to a TU and updates the outbound delivery orders that are assigned to that TU. The system only updates outbound delivery order items for which no warehouse activities have started. For large numbers of outbound delivery order items (more than 100), the delivery update is done asynchronously, to allow the user to continue working on other TUs. The Update Info
column shows the status of the background job that is updating the outbound delivery orders, and warns about inconsistencies between TUs and outbound delivery orders. This field is updated upon every screen interaction, so there is no need to refresh the TU to see whether the update is finished.
Assign Staging Area
The Assign Staging Area
action assigns the staging location (staging area group, staging area, and staging bay) to all outbound delivery orders of the selected TU.
Create Wave
You can use the Create Wave
action to create waves and wave items for outbound delivery orders. For more information, see Creating Waves.
Unassign Delivery
You can use the Unassign Delivery
button to unassign outbound delivery orders from TUs. The unassigned outbound delivery orders are then not shown in the execution view, but appear in the planning view where you can use them for planning purposes.
Arrival and Reverse Arrival at Checkpoint
You can use this function to post or reverse arrival at checkpoint for the selected TUs.
Arrival at Door
You can use this function to post arrival at door for the selected TU. If no door is assigned to the TU, the system displays the dialog box for door assignment. This action also posts arrival at checkpoint if this has not been done already.
Start Loading and Reverse Start Loading
You can use this function to set the Loading Started
status for the TU. The system can also set this status if, for example, some handling units have been loaded onto a TU. If this status is not set and the loading process is finished, for example by closing the TU, then the system sets the Loading Started
status for the TU. You can reset this status by using the Reverse Start Loading
action. Note that using Reverse Start Loading
resets the Loading Completed
status of the transportation unit.
Change Seals
You can use this action to change the seal information for the selected TU, if you have to open seals before loading the TU or apply new seals after loading the TU. You can enter the seal number, the sealing or unsealing dates, and party role until the TU has departed. For sealing or unsealing party roles, you can use the Settings
button to maintain default values. The system uses the current date and time for the sealing or unsealing date by default when inserting or unsealing a seal.
Request, Cancel, and Print Invoice
If you require the invoice for the TU content before the end of the warehouse execution process (before you post goods issue), for example, in the case of international transportation, you can use the Request Invoice
action to request invoice creation before goods issue in the SAP ERP or SAP CRM system. In this case, an invoice request is sent from SAP EWM to SAP CRM billing or SAP ERP billing. Note that if you request an invoice, the system creates outbound deliveries for the contents of the selected TU.
The following prerequisites apply for requesting an invoice:
Invoice creation before goods issue is allowed for the sales order type and sales organization you use in SAP ERP. You do this in SAP ERP Customizing for Logistics Execution
under .
On the SAP Easy Access
screen for Extended Warehouse Management
under , you have chosen the option Group
for the route you use.
You can use Print Invoice
to print an invoice and Cancel Invoice
to cancel an existing invoice. Note that when you cancel an invoice, the corresponding statuses in the outbound deliveries and the TU are reset, but the outbound deliveries remain in the system.
Close TU and Reverse Loading Completed
You can use this action to set the Loading Completed
status for a TU. If you use this action, the system first checks whether all outbound delivery orders that are assigned to a TU are completely loaded. If so, the status is set for the TU. For more information, see Close TU. Note if you use the Reverse Loading Completed
action, only the corresponding TU status is reset.
Departure from Door
You can use this function to post or reverse departure from door for the selected TUs.
Post and Cancel GI
You can use this function to post or cancel goods issue for all selected TUs. When posting goods issue the system also creates outbound deliveries if they do not exist yet. Canceling goods issue does not delete the outbound deliveries again.
Departure from Checkpoint and Reverse Departure from Checkpoint
You can use this function to post or reverse the departure from the checkpoint for all selected TUs. When posting the departure from the checkpoint the system also posts the departure from the door and the goods issue if this has not already been done. However, the system does not set the Loading Completed
status. You can set this status either in radio function (Loading by TU
) after the last handling unit for the TU has been loaded, or by using the Close TU
button. For goods issue posting to happen automatically, you must enable it in Customizing for Extended Warehouse Management
under .
Refresh TU
You can use the Refresh
button to read one or more TUs again without having to repeat the whole selection. This action also rereads the outbound delivery orders assigned to the TUs.
Note
The shipping cockpit does not display a success message after an action has been successfully executed.
