Displaying a Short Dump Directly
If a runtime error occurs during a dialog process, the ABAP system displays to the respective user, provided the latter has the required authorization to display long texts of short dumps. a screen with the corresponding long text. The long text itself is an edited short dump in list form and contains extensive details on solving the problem.
For further checks you can then branch directly to the ABAP Debugger. This option is only available, however, in the direct dump display. When you leave the dump analysis, the analysis by means of the ABAP Debugger is no longer available to you.
If the user has no authorization to display the long text, the ABAP system displays only very abbreviated information on the ABAP runtime error that occurred. This information enables the administrator of the ABAP system to identify the corresponding short dump using transaction ST22 and to display this for problem analysis.
