You use the comparison tools to analyze in detail the behavior of the program you are measuring. The runtime analysis has the following compare tools:
Hit List Comparison
You use this tool to check a measurable component for nonlinear coding.
Hierarchy Comparison
You use this tool to identify new branches in the program execution.
The Hit List Comparison and call Hierarchy Comparison tools are part of the functionality of the Evaluation tab page.
To start the hit list comparison, select two measurements and choose
with the quick info text
Compare Measurements.
From the dropdown box, choose Compare Hit Lists.
To start the hierarchy comparison, select two measurements and choose
with the quick info text
Compare Measurements.
From the dropdown box, choose Compare Call Hierarchies.
With this function, you can compare only measurements without aggegation.
As of Release SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP2, you can compare measurements across application servers - even if they have different operating systems - and across systems.
If you export a measurement to file, it is held in a release-neutral (as of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP2 EHP2) and host operating system-neutral format.
For example, you can compare execution of a program on an application server running under Linux and another running under Windows. You can compare measurements from your test and production systems.
You have prepared two measurements that adhere to the respective rules for comparing two traces.
