Collective Processing
You use this Web Dynpro application (USMD_ENTITY) to find the entities of an entity type and process hierarchies. You can filter the search by specific attributes to print the list of entities (only in the List view).
In the Hierarchy view, you can create entities for entity types with storage and use type (SU type) 2, which you need for the hierarchy (for example, as text nodes).
You are the current processor of a change request. If you are not the current processor, you can only display the data.
A standard data model has been assigned to you. If a standard data model has not been assigned to you by means of the user master record, you must assign a data model in this Web Dynpro application by choosing Change Model.
If the selected entity has a hierarchy and you do not restrict any attributes during selection, the Hierarchy view is displayed automatically.
You can move nodes in the hierarchy (by using drag and drop).
Entities with SU type 1 are displayed as hyperlinks, which you can use to start Single Processing.
In change mode, you can create new entities (such as new text nodes) by choosing New.
Note
Note that this function only lets you define the key and name of the new entity, but no attributes. Therefore, this function does not allow you to create any new entities for entity types that contain attributes as required-entry fields. To do this, switch to single processing.
To locate entities that are not assigned to a hierarchy yet, use .
If you select multiple nodes of an entity type with SU type 1, you can start Mass Change.
Note
Changes to cross-name hierarchies and to subhierarchies whose top node is not an entity apply to all identically named hierarchies and hierarchies that contain that entity.
You can switch between the active and inactive versions.
By choosing Related Services, you can access Collective Processing of Another Entity from this Web Dynpro application.
You can run this Web Dynpro application with the following services:
Directly using the service Collective Processing in the work set Change Requests
For example, within the following iViews by choosing Related Links:
For more information about the storage and usage type, as well as the structure of hierarchies, see Structure of the Data Model and Database Tables in the “Entity Types” section.
