You can use this Web Dynpro application (USMD_MASS_CHANGE) to change individual master data items to a common value for multiple selected entities of an entity type.

You can set the Initialize indicator to delete the values for the selected attribute from the database for all entities, for example, when an attribute is no longer relevant for an entity and the values for it should no longer be displayed.

Caution Caution

If the selected entity type has dependent entity types (with storage and use type 4) and you do not restrict the values for the dependent entity type, the values are changed globally for all entities of the dependent entity type during a mass change.

Example: You change an attribute for an account (=entity type that has the version as a dependent entity type) and you did not restrict the version. In this case, the attribute values are changed in all versions.

End of the caution.

Prerequisites

  • You have created a change request that is used to approve and reconcile the changes.

  • A standard data model has been assigned to you. If a standard data model has not been assigned to you by means of the user master record, you must assign a data model in this Web Dynpro application by choosing Change Model.
