You can delete license keys that are no longer needed. This is necessary, for example, if the installation number and/or the system number of a new key change. For the system to import the new key, you need to delete the old key.

Caution Caution

Never delete “obsolete” license keys of the old type if you do not have an active license key. The system uses this information to determine whether a temporary license can be installed (for more information, see Installing Temporary License Keys, Prerequisites section).

You can install temporary digital license keys even if you have deleted the corresponding permanent license key. Temporary digital license keys overwrite the corresponding permanent digital license keys.

End of the caution.

Prerequisites

You are in transaction SLICENSE on the Digitally-Signed Licenses or Old Licenses tab page and have a list of installed license keys.

Caution Caution

Read the section Notes On Deleting License Keys.

End of the caution.

Procedure

  1. Select the license key that you want to delete from the list.

  2. From the menu, choose   Edit   Delete License  .

The selected license key is deleted. On the SAP Service Marketplace, now enter the details of the SAP system for which you have deleted the license key.
