Procedure documentationInstalling Permanent (Fixed Period) SAP Licenses Locate this document in the navigation structure

To operate your SAP system on a permanent basis, you need to install a permanent license. This license can be for a fixed period (see Validity Period of SAP License Keys).

Note Note

If you still have license keys of the old type installed, you can administer these on the Old Licenses tab page. However, you can no longer install license keys of the old type.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

  • You have received the license key for your installation from SAP.

    .

Procedure

  1. In transaction SLICENSE, choose the Digitally-Signed Licenses tab page.

  2. Choose Install.

A dialog box appears, in which you specify the local file to be loaded from the file system.

  3. Specify the license key file and confirm your entry.

A success message appears for you to confirm.

The new license is displayed under Installed Licenses in the Database.

  4. Check whether you can log on to the SAP system.

If you can log on, the license has been correctly set up. If problems arise (if an error message is displayed during the installation procedure, if you cannot log on, and so on), see the section entitled Frequently-Asked Questions About the SAP License.

Result

The relevant license key is installed and immediately active.
