Procedure

To display a current system log, choose Re-Read SysLog on the initial screen on the system log. The system displays a table of system log entries. The information in this table depends on the selection options you made.

The title page of the system log contains a summary of your selection options. The last page of the log is a table of contents.

When selecting with the statistics options in the Display group, a static analysis is displayed which gives information about the message frequency for each client, transaction, report, and user.

Note Note

If the User field in a log is empty then the system has displayed the message during startup or shutdown of the SAP system. There are other system activities that are not assigned a single user.

End of the note.
Display Details

You can get more detailed information on a specific entry by selecting the entry and choosing   Edit   Details  .

In the detail view you can see a detailed error analysis - for short dumps and runtime errors - using   Edit   Evaluate Runtime Errors  .

Sorting the Log Display

Using the   SystemLog   Sort   function you can sort a log using different criteria.

Messages and Log Displays

Choose   Edit   Ignore Message   if you want the system to ignore a message type. The system then ignores messages of the type when it next edits the log data for the display. If you use the Ignore Message function, the system enter the message identifier in a graphic where you can include or exclude the message types. You only see this graphic if you edit in Expert Mode.
