Expert Mode 
The system log can be used in either normal or expert mode. Expert mode is mainly intended to be used by SAP if it becomes necessary to analyze a problem with a customer system. To call expert mode, choose .
You can use a series of additional selection options in expert mode. You can also include or exclude certain system log messages.
Select the Attributes pushbutton on the screen to display the following fields:

Program: |
Restricts the display to messages from one program. |
Problem Classes |
Restricts the display to a specific message type. You can specify one or more of the following classes: K System kernel messages from NetWeaver system. S Status messages T Transaction messages W Warning messages X Other message types |
From File/Position To File/Position |
Defines the segments of the log file that are to be read. If you have already read the log, you can get the file and position of a specific entry by double-clicking the relevant entry. You get the file and position of the entry in the technical Details section in the detailed view for an entry. |
Message Format (Type) |
Selecting messages according to the format/type of the system component. You can select messages by specifying the code letters for the system log type of a component. You can display the types using the Input Options button. |
Terminal |
Selecting messages from individual computers, for example, PCs. Enter the network host name of the PC for this. In F1 help you can find additional options for search criteria. |
Development Class |
Restricts the display to messages sent by modules of a development class. You can find a list of the development classes in the TDEVC table. |
With SysLog-Internal Entries |
Shows messages from the send and collect processes of the system log. You can use these entries to check if the send processes on application servers are communicating successfully with the central collect process. You can find more information on send and collect processes in Central Logging Concepts. |
With the Mess.Identifiers function you can exclude certain message types from the processing or only include certain types in a log display.
