Choose Tools Administration on the SAP initial screen to displays a log. The initial screen appears for system administration. Choose Monitor System Log. The initial screen for the system log is displayed .

The Imported SysLog Entries field specified how many log entries the system has read from the log file. This filed has the value 0 when you call the initial screen for the first time. Choose Re-Read SysLog to read the log. The system then imports the entries from the log file so that they can be displayed. The system reads the log for the last one to two hours by default.

After you have read a log, you will find additional buttons Redisplay Only and Read in SysLog: in the toolbar.

If you want to see the log that was last displayed again, choose Redisplay Only. Using this button you can use the restriction options without having to read the log again.

If you want to keep the data of the log that was last read, but want to read the log itself with other selection options, use the Read in SysLog option. With this option you can display the information from the original log access with information from a second access in a list.

Specify Selection Options

You can define the information that you want to take from the log using the selection options.

Central SysLog

Central Log You first have to have configured every application so that their messages are forwarded from the local log to the central log before you can use this option.

The information in the central system log can differ from the data in the individual logs. You can find information on the accuracy of the system logs in System Logging Concepts.
