Procedure documentationPreparing Lifecycle Management of Legacy Data in the RW System

To define audit areas and ILM rules for ILM-compliant conversion of legacy data, you first need only the metadata table entries in the repository of the Retention Warehouse system (RW system). You create the audit areas and ILM rules for the legacy system data based on the table entries in the repository.

In the RW system, these preparatory steps create the prerequisites for the transfer, conversion, and storage of legacy system data. In the RW system, you can use the Retention Management functions of SAP NetWeaver ILM to manage the legacy data of decommissioned systems.

Procedure

  1. Transfer the archive administration data of the archive file SN_META (metadata) to the RW system. Make sure that the required metadata table entries are available in the repository of the RW system.

For more information, see: Transferring Archive Administration Data of the Metadata to the RW System

  2. Create the required audit areas and ILM rules for the legacy data.
