Function documentation Creating SNP Planned Orders from SAP ERP   Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You need an active integration model for planned orders if you want to transfer planned orders from SAP ERP to SAP APO. If you do not make any additional settings, SAP APO always creates planned orders for the Production Planning/Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) component, irrespective of whether planned orders exist in the SNP production horizon. PP/DS planned orders that lie outside of the SNP production horizon (that is, in the SNP planning horizon) are fixed and cannot be changed in Supply Network Planning (SNP). However, they are taken into account by planning as fixed receipts.

For the activation of integration models for planned orders, you can configure the system so that SAP APO creates SNP planned orders for SAP ERP planned orders that lie outside of the SNP production horizon. The following prerequisites must be met to enable an SAP ERP planned order to be created as an SNP planned order:

·        The planned order does not previously exist in SAP APO.

·        MRP procedure X (without planning, with BOM explosion) is assigned to the header material of the planned order in SAP ERP.

·        The availability date of the header material lies outside the SNP production horizon.

·        This is neither a planned order of the type VP (forecast) nor a planned order for project stock or sales order stock.

·        The SNP production horizon is maintained on the SNP 2 tab page in the product master (transaction /SAPAPO/MAT1).

Integration

You can stop the initial transfer for SNP planned orders and only permit the transfer of PP/DS planned orders. For more information, see Controlling the Initial Transfer of Planned Orders.

You can also stop the transfer of planned order changes from SAP ERP to SAP APO.  For more information, see Stopping the Change Transfer for SNP Planned Orders.

Recommendation

If you have set the Create Planned Orders as SNP Planned Orders indicator, we recommend you choose a period type in the product master (transaction /SAPAPO/MAT1) for the SNP production or stock transfer horizon that corresponds to the frequency with which you execute your SNP planning; for example, weekly or monthly. This helps avoid data inconsistencies that are caused by the planned orders transferred from SAP ERP.

Prerequisites

The prerequisites for the Integration of Planned Orders must be met.

An SNP production process model must exist in SAP APO.

Activities

       1.      When you activate the integration model for planned orders in SAP ERP (transaction CFM2), set the Create Planned Orders as SNP Planned Orders indicator.

       2.      SAP APO creates SNP planned orders for planned orders for which the availability date of the header material lies outside of the SNP production horizon. PP/DS planned orders are created for planned orders for which the availability date of the header material lies within the SNP production horizon.
