Procurement Quantity Calculation for SNP-PP/DS
Conversion
For the conversion of Supply Network Planning (SNP) or Capable-to-Match (CTM) orders into Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) orders, you can specify how PP/DS determines the procurement quantities for PP/DS orders from the receipt quantity of an SNP/CTM order. You can choose one of the following procedures:
· PP/DS determines the procurement quantities according to the settings in the location product master.
· PP/DS generates a PP/DS order with the receipt quantity of the SNP/CTM order.
· PP/DS determines the procurement quantities from the lot size interval of the PP/DS source of supply specified by the SNP PPM.
· PP/DS uses the RRP_USEX_SNP2PPDS_LOTS method for the procurement quantity calculation. You have implemented this method in the BAdI /SAPAPO/RRP_SNP_CONV.
PP/DS determines the procurement quantities of the PP/DS orders from the receipt quantity of the SNP/CTM order, the assembly scrap, and the lot size settings in the location product master of the planning version. You can only use fixed lot sizes and the lot-for-lot order quantity as lot-sizing procedures. If you have configured a different lot-sizing procedure, PP/DS automatically uses the lot-for-lot order quantity. In the case of the lot-for-lot order quantity, PP/DS takes account of the minimum lot size, the maximum lot size, and the rounding parameters. PP/DS does not take account of other parameters (such as the safety stock).
PP/DS generates a PP/DS order with the receipt quantity of the SNP/CTM order. For products produced in-house, PP/DS takes account of the assembly scrap from the location product master. Therefore, the procurement quantity of an in-house production order is accordingly larger. PP/DS takes account of the rounding settings from the location product master. PP/DS does not take account of the minimum lot size and the maximum lot size.
You can only use this option if you want PP/DS to use the source of supply specified by SNP/CTM (PP/DS PPM or transportation lane). In the PP/DS source of supply, you need to have specified the minimum and maximum lot sizes explicitly. In other words, you cannot use any default values. (If the minimum or maximum lot sizes are not specified explicitly, the system uses the lot size settings from the location product master of the planning version: see above.)
The system distinguishes between the following cases:
...
1. The receipt quantity of the SNP order is smaller than the minimum lot size.
PP/DS creates a PP/DS order with a receipt quantity the same size as the minimum lot size. In other words, PP/DS rounds up the receipt quantity.
2. The receipt quantity of the SNP order is larger than the minimum lot size and smaller than or equal to the maximum lot size.
PP/DS creates a PP/DS order here that has the same receipt quantity as the SNP order.
3. The receipt quantity of the SNP order is larger than the maximum lot size.
PP/DS splits the receipt quantity of the SNP order here into partial quantities the same size as the maximum lot size and creates PP/DS orders with this receipt quantity. For the remaining quantity, PP/DS creates an order whose receipt quantity PP/DS determines according to cases 1 and 2.
PP/DS takes account of the assembly scrap and the rounding settings from the location product master. PP/DS does not consider the minimum lot size and the maximum lot size from the location product master.
To create the PP/DS orders, PP/DS uses the source of supply it determined using automatic source determination from PP/DS or the source of supply specified by SNP. For more information, see Source Determination for SNP-PP/DS Conversion.
