MRP-based Detailed Scheduling 
MRP-based Detailed Scheduling allows you to combine Material Requirement Planning (MRP) in SAP ERP and detailed scheduling in SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) without requiring the supply source in SAP APO. This enhanced process enables you to derive the benefits of detailed scheduling in SAP APO while continuing to use the planning functions of SAP ERP.
This document lists the steps involved in activating MRP-based Detailed Scheduling and its individual functions. For more information, also see SAP Note 1090435.
You use an SAP APO system together with an SAP ECC 6.0 (ERP 2005) system.
In Customizing for SAP ERP, you have activated MRP-based Detailed Scheduling for the plant after choosing
If you use collective orders, you have maintained the heuristic setting for SAP_PP_MRPDS in Customizing for SAP APO. Choose Adv
Plant, materials, and work centers have been transferred to SAP APO using Core Interface (CIF). An active integration model exists in SAP ERP for transaction data such as planned orders, production orders, purchase orders, and purchase requisitions.
1. You carry out an MRP run in SAP ERP.
2. Planned orders and production orders are automatically transferred to SAP APO.
3. If required, in SAP APO you can run the heuristic SAP_PP_MRPDS. A fixed pegging relationship is created between orders in SAP APO based on the collective orders in SAP ERP. This step is only necessary if you use collective orders. See also MRP-based DS: Collective Order Heuristic. If necessary, you can also transfer alternative sequences in the production order from the SAP ERP system to SAP APO as alternative modes using mode coupling. 4. You execute Detailed Scheduling in SAP APO. For more information, see Detailed Scheduling.
5. You convert planned orders in SAP ERP.
6. You release production orders in SAP ERP.
7. You carry out confirmation to complete the process.
