Object documentation Classes for CDP and Block Planning  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Definition

Classes contain the characteristics that are required to describe products or blocks. Classes are always assigned a class type.

You use the APO-specific class type 400 for CDP (see Class Type 400 in SAP APO).

Use

You can make class-specific changes at the characteristics.

The following class-specific changes at the characteristic are not taken into account for CDP and block planning:

·        Authorizations

·        Characteristic and value overwrites

·        Inheritance

·        Display relevance

·        Dependencies

·        Validity period/change management

Note

Class names cannot start with SAP_. These namespaces are reserved for SAP and are used for special application cases.

The following class properties are not taken into account for CDP.

·        Standard code letter

·        Printing relevance

·        Selection relevance

·        Index relevance

The CDP environment does not support class hierarchies.

The CDP environment does not support change management for classes and characteristics. If several change statuses exist, the system uses the master data of a characteristic with the current system date in the CDP environment. In classes with class type 400, the system groups the characteristics from all class change statuses together.

CDP classes must not contain any reference characteristics. You can only use reference characteristics with production data structures (see CDP with Production Data Structures (PDS)).
