Purpose

You use this process for RFID in goods issue. The process consists of the following elements:

      Writing and verifying tags

      Packing

      Loading

Prerequisites

You have made the required settings in Customizing for EWM and SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure. For more information, see Prerequisites for RFID and under Customizing in SAP AII.

Process

...

       1.      Product or handling unit (HU) is picked using RFIDs.

       2.      Packing, repacking, and/or labeling:

After physical packing/repacking, creating new HUs in EWM, and labeling the HUs, the worker uses an RFID device (he or she sets the HU on the conveyor belt with a stationary RFID device) to update EWM with the new HU hierarchy.

       3.      Internal HU movements:

Automatic confirmation of the warehouse task

If you want, you can enter the user name of the worker who processed the warehouse task for traceability reasons

Example: a worker raises an HU with a forklift. In EWM, the forklift (or the user) can be a resource with its own RFID tag for identification. EWM confirms the open warehouse task based on the resource, by scanning the RFID tag (resource and handling unit) during movement through an RFID door. By using the additional RFID tag on the resource, EWM receives the name of the user who is logged on to the resource to confirm the warehouse tasks.

       4.      Loading using manual goods issue posting:

By scanning the RFID label, the HUs are identified by the system and are loaded easily. Goods issue is thereby posted manually.

       5.      The system sends the advanced shipping notification with the required EPC data to SAP ERP.
