To be able to use the complete range of RFID functions, the following Customizing settings must be made in EWM:
● You have activated the RFID functions at warehouse number level by setting the "RFID active" indicator. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Extended Warehouse Management under Interfaces ® RFID ® Activate RFID Process per Warehouse Number.
Note that during the first cross-warehouse activation of RFID processes, the system checks if an enhancement of the print condition tables is required and starts this, if necessary.
● You have defined filter values for packaging material types.
For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Extended Warehouse Management under Interfaces ® RFID ® Determine Filter Value for Packaging Material Type.
● You have defined tag coding types at warehouse level.
For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Extended Warehouse Management under Interfaces ® RFID ® Determine Standard Transponder Coding Type.
If you want to implement communication between EWM and SAP Auto ID Infrastructure using an RFC connection, you must define an RFC connection from the EWM system to SAP Auto ID Infrastructure.
For more information about RFC connections, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Extended Warehouse Management under Interfaces ® RFID ® Define RFC Destination for SAP All Communication.
However, as standard, communication between SAP EWM and SAP AII is performed using Web Services. For more information, see Integration with SAP AII.
If you want to print RFID labels, you must make a series of settings in the EWM system. For more information, see Printing with RFID.
