2.3 Including the Edit Form Workflow Step in the Workflow Template for Superiors

Use

In this lesson, you insert an additional workflow step for processing the relocation form into the workflow template ZTWS. With this new step, the employee’s direct superior receives the form and enters additional data.

Note Note

This is not an approval step.

Since you insert the additional step into the workflow template in front of the existing step, you must not change the saving of data to the back-end system. After the new step is inserted, the existing step is the second step of the workflow template. Data is still saved to the back-end system in this second step.

End of the note.

Procedure

  1. Open the workflow template ZTWS in the Workflow Builder .

  2. Insert a new step into the workflow template in front of the existing Edit Relocation Form (Administrator) step.

Proceed as described in the Including the Edit Form Workflow Step in the Workflow Template for the HR Administrator lesson. Ensure that you insert the new step into the workflow template in front of the existing step.

  3. Determine the details of the newly inserted workflow step.

Proceed as described in the Defining the Edit Form Workflow Step in Detail for the HR Administrator lesson. However, make the following different settings:

    • Overwrite the system-defined description for the new workflow step with the following text:

      Edit Relocation Form (Superior)

    • Determine FSS_2 (Insert Bonus Data) as the form scenario step for the new workflow step. Specify the constant FSS_2 for the container element &FORM_SCENARIO_STAGE&.

    • Leave container element &SEND_VARIATION& as the system created it.

  4. Save and activate your workflow template.

Result

Your workflow template now looks like the following graphic:

Note Note

The first process step in which the employee starts the process is outside of the workflow and is therefore not represented in this graphic. The Edit Relocation Form (Superior) step that the graphic shows as the first step is the second step of the process.

End of the note.
