The Configurator comes with a set of preconfigured reports. You can customize the title, specify the number of signature lines, and define the content and layout by modifying the list of columns shown on the report and by indicating the columns’ display order and format.

Note Note

Only function-based reports, for example, those that are based on Transaction Log (TLog) tables, allow for customization of data content and layout. All other reports allow configuration of signature lines and report titles only.

After completing the layout of your reports, you generate them in the POS Manager application using your organization’s data. The data in a report can be either the standard for a given report type, or it can be custom defined. For more information about modifying a reports layout, see Report Group Configuration.

The following are parameters for summary and detail reports that allow layout modifications:

Deletes a column or row from the report

Type

Standard or custom data type. If you select standard, the Value option displays a standard data type. If you select custom, the Value option displays a customer data type ID.

Value

Well-known data type or custom data type ID

Label

Column’s header name. Labels specified for the data placed in subsequent rows are displayed as regular labels adjacent to the field’s value, rather than as headings.

Format

Data type format. For standard data types, a well-known data type format automatically displays, while for custom data types, you must select the appropriate format that includes date, number, string, and so on.
